Spree

Yesterday and today have been nice and relaxing as any Rest Days should be.

I say relaxing, but there have been fraught moments and the occasional curse as I’ve been trying to set up some new tech that I’ve splurged on. Not much, just a couple of things that I’ve been meaning to get my hands on for a while now.

First of all, a bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo for use with my Samsung tablet and/or phone. No more having to type on the on-screen keyboard. No more having said on-screen keyboard blocking me from seeing what I’m typing and where.

I picked up a nice fairly inexpensive set by JLabs and was very satisfied with what they had to offer. Except I had to take it back to the shop for replacement after three days when the up arrow key mysteriously popped off. I’m hoping that was just a one-off, and that the replacement will last a while longer.

Second, I bought a new laptop to replace my old one which had died on me about 6 years ago, but I’d been managing to keep on life support until a couple of weeks ago when it finally gave its very last gasp.

I got an Asus Vivobook which would have been out of my budget range had it not been reduced by £350 in a sale. It’s going to take me a while to get used to this one, but 1TB of storage built in plus 4TB of cloud storage free for a year as part of the package. I think that should keep me quiet for a while.

You’d have thought that after the extravagance of buying Gracie, I’d let my wallet cool down for a while, but no. That’s not my style at all…

*PS* I’ve just had a group text from work asking if anyone wants a day’s holiday tomorrow. If I get it, I know what I’ll be doing…

…and I’m a bit confused as to why anyone would find this remotely interesting. But here we are. My little corner of the Web whereby I lay out my thoughts like washing on a line. There for all to see, wafting in the summer breeze…
