Banishing the Dragon

Good things can happen if you try hard enough. And sometimes they just happen with a little mythical help.

In amongst all my days, nights and weekends of working hard to earn a living making sure everybody else’s larders were full, and despite my propensity for lusting after expensive cars and techie gizmos, the little Golden Knight of Fiscal Good Fortune was working his little butt off for me.

And I haven’t even stopped to say thanks to him…

I had debts. Some recent, others not so. Ok, I wasn’t up to my eyeballs in debt, but I had enough to make me feel uncomfortable if I needed to make a large purchase (such as Grace…)

But quietly in the background while I’ve been worrying about whether I can afford to take so much time off due to my illness, my golden knight has dealt with my bank overdraft (took 3 months, but now all money coming in is definitely all mine bar the £12 monthly Gold Account fee).

He’s also taken care of my credit card, which is no longer maxxed-out, if anything I believe I may even be in credit due to a refund on a leather belt that I had to send back to the supplier.

And here’s the kicker. The one debt I’ve been paying off for years… I haven’t heard from Steve from the credit recovery firm since before Christmas, so I can only assume that I have fully paid back the money I owed for nearly writing off a rental van I was using when I was a self-employed courier for Amazon seven years ago.

So thank you, Golden Knight of Fiscal Good Fortune. Your work here is done. Rest easy, as I have Gracie’s finance repayments covered for now, and that is my only debt bar gratitude.

…and I’m a bit confused as to why anyone would find this remotely interesting. But here we are. My little corner of the Web whereby I lay out my thoughts like washing on a line. There for all to see, wafting in the summer breeze…
